[San Mateo County, CA]

Juventus Academy Silicon Valley and San Mateo County Football Club announced today that they have reached an agreement In principle on a formal collaboration for their 11v11 Boys & Girls Teams. This strategic collaboration aims to create a larger and stronger player pool, enabling the Clubs to build more competitive rosters and provide enhanced development opportunities for talented youth soccer players in the region.

By joining forces, Juventus Academy Silicon Valley (JASV) and San Mateo County Football Club (SMC) will leverage their collective expertise and resources to establish highly competitive teams in NorCal National Premier League (NPL), MLS NEXT, and Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). The Clubs already participate in NPL, the Elite Academy (EA) and the Development Player League (DPL). Club leadership from both JASV and SMC are working together with NorCal Premier Soccer leadership for guidance as we navigate through this process.

The collaboration will allow the Clubs to combine their talented players, fostering an environment of mutual growth, skill development, and competitiveness. Players will benefit from increased training opportunities, exposure to higher-level competition, and enhanced pathways to showcase their skills to college and professional scouts.

"We are excited about this collaboration with SMC," said Jason Brown, Juventus Academy SV’s Executive Director.  "By coming together, we can pool our resources, knowledge, and expertise and provide our players with the best possible opportunities for growth and success in their soccer journeys. It is an integral part of our ongoing effort to provide all members of our community with access to the highest level of training and competition.”

Brian Mansell, Executive Director at San Mateo County FC, stated, "We believe that combining forces with Juventus will create a stronger and more competitive environment for our players. This collaboration aligns with our shared vision of developing well-rounded athletes and providing them with exceptional experiences within the game."

The Clubs are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive soccer community where players from diverse backgrounds can thrive and reach their full potential as players and as people. The collaboration will further strengthen the local soccer landscape, offering an enhanced player development pathway for young athletes in the region, and marks a significant step forward in elevating the level of soccer excellence and competitiveness in the community. More details about the collaboration, including team structures, coaching staff, and other information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Juventus Academy Silicon Valley has been providing the highest quality youth soccer development in the Redwood City community and surrounding Bay Area since its inception in 1961. Through its official partnership with Juventus FC Italy, JASV is able to bring Juventus methodologies, techniques, and values to the athletes in their community with the goal of guiding local youth soccer players in their growth from introduction to the game to maturity, while fostering the whole player.

San Mateo County Football Club was formed in 2008 and quickly established itself in the local soccer community. In 2014 it was awarded with a US Soccer Development Academy by US Soccer. SMC partners with local law enforcement agencies to provide vital wrap-around services to their families and players. By working with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office - Sheriff’s Activities Leagues and other local PAL’s in the community, SMC develops the entire player, on and off the field and prepares them for life beyond the game. Among the services provided to the youth throughout San Mateo County are youth mentoring, academic tutoring, nutritional counseling, youth diversion programs and more.
